I watched the Thriller film Abandoned starring Brittany Murphy and directed by Michael Feifer. I missed the opening credits (if there were some) that happens a lot with me, it happened when I first watched Shutter Island too. Throughout this film the audience follow Mary Walsh (Murphy) who is searching a hospital for her boyfriend Kevin Peterson (Dean Cain) who without a trace of even his existence goes missing after his operation. We as the viewers see her boyfriend in the beginning and know that Murphy is telling the truth, but with no hard evidence to prove her claim they relay her from her police enquiry with Detective Franklin (Jay Pickett) to the hospital psychiatrist Dr Bensley (Peter Bogdanovich). So with everyone believing she is mental unstable she is forced to find her boyfriend and prove her sanity. However as the movie progresses the story begins to unravel. We are given hints with a sense of foreboding.
- The Chief security guard, Holloway (Scott Anthony Leet) knows or has something to do with Peterson's disappearance as he keeps an intensively close eye on her seeming more suspicious than just doing his job.
- We see CCTV camera shots of Walsh walking through the corridors as if somebody is watching her waiting for her to walk into a trap. Which does going in search for her boyfriend and agreeing to pay $10million dollars for him....
- The camera shots were very effective with the viewer following Walsh (Murphy) around the corridors of this abandoned hospital, as you felt you were searching with her waiting for something to happen or to find something.
